Michigan Nursing Preceptor Academy

Michigan Nurse Preceptor Academy

The Michigan Nurse Preceptor Academy is a one-day, comprehensive train-the-trainer program for nurses training others to serve/serving as preceptors to newly hired or transitioning licensed nurses in a variety of care settings. Dedicated and competent nurse preceptors are vital to the success of our health care organizations and to the retention of nurses in the nursing profession. Our mission is to take a proactive approach in educating and supporting health care providers in educating nurse preceptors. Training materials may be downloaded for those who attended the 2016 Michigan Nurse Preceptor Academy.

The Office of Nursing Programs, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has received written permission from The Health Alliance of MidAmerica that allows attendees to reproduce the Nurse Preceptor Academy reference manual and related copyright materials for distribution to existing and new preceptors. In continuing with the licensing agreement, please administer the evaluation below to all program participants who receive the training in its entirety.
